Piece of Naturally Occuring AsbestosThe above material is Asbestos. Believe it or not but this material is one of the main causes of lung cancer. another thing is this material is in every house and nearly every building. It can even be found in your cars clutch pad. every month 20 people are being killed due to asbestos related issues. alot of countries have  acknowledged this issue and have put in requirements for all asbestos working needs. these requirements are that you can only come in contact with asbestos. If you are in contact more than three times a week you must report you're workplace as required by law to protect yourself and fellow workers.

Who gets Mesothelioma

You can catch Mesothelioma very easily. a way of getting it would be people who are exposed to a chemical called asbestos. Jobs that would come close to contact with the chemical would be:
Veterans in the Military mainly the navy and the marines. Construction workers. Demolition crews. And renovation crews. Car/Plane Mechanics. People who insulate houses. Shipyard workers. Asbestos Miners or millers. Boiler workers. Asbestos manufacturers. People who hold Asbestos in their hand or breath in this toxic chemical can result in Mesothelioma. In the tragedy that was 9/11 clean-up workers  that worked cleaning  the debris recently were found to all have Mesothelioma Cancer.

How is Mesothelioma Diagnosed?

A typical diagnosis would carry out as the following. 1=Patient notes symptoms.2=Primary physician finds a common illness, symptoms continue under medical supervision to see if they will get worse after that the patient returns for additional testing. the way they carry out the tests could be urine sample. blood sample. Patients bodily fluids. X-Ray. C-T Scans. MRI. PET Scans. Saliva. 3=after taking tests and if they come  back positive for lets say Mesothelioma he will be taken to a specialist for further diagnosis. Patient will then come in for Monthly/Weekly visits depending on severity of the disease.

Mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer. It affects the membrane lining of the lungs and abdomen. Finding if someone has Mesothelioma is very difficult as symptoms that relate to the disease are found in alot of other diseases. Sadly there is no known cure for Mesothelioma there are surgery's and chemotherapy for help with the disease. Pleural mesothelioma is an other form of the disease. this one affects the lungs protective cavity. this can be seen in the picture above.  Peritoneal mesothelioma this version of the disease affects the abdominal cavity. I strongly advise if you find any of the symptoms of Mesothelioma on yourself or anybody else please, please, please visit your local GP/DOCTOR/HOSPITAL.
